- Do I have to purchase tickets in advance? Yes, purchasing tickets in advance is required, as trail rides often sell out! We suggest purchasing your tickets early to guarantee your desired tour day. You can buy your tickets either online or by phone with a Visa, Mastercard or American Express.
- Is there an age limit? Children must be at least 6 years old to join one of our trail rides. All riders are required to purchase a standard ticket, regardless of age. Each child will have their own horse as there is no double riding.
- Are we required to sign a liability waiver? We do have a liability waiver that each adult must sign before the ride. If there are minors a parent or guardian must sign for them, AND accompany them as well. ALL MINORS MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT!
- Is the trail ride narrated? Our trail rides aren’t particularly narrated. It’s more of relaxing conversation we engage in. We encourage our guests to ask as many questions as they’d like, or just sit back and enjoy the ride! Cameras are allowed so take as many pictures as you like.
- Do I have to be an expert rider to take a trail ride? Absolutely not! Beginners are more than welcome to attend. Our horses are very gentle and they only walk during the trail ride.
- Is this safe for someone who has never ridden a horse? these trail rides are perfect for first time riders who want to see if they want to get into horses or may be timid and want to try out riding to see what it is all about.
- Do we follow the same route on every tour? Yes, we ride through Pinellas Park’s Equestrian Trails.
- What type of terrain do we ride on? The terrain is flat mixed with woods and farms.
- How far do we ride? Ride is 5 miles and last between 60 and 90 minutes We want to show you the beauty of the park’s trails..
- Can I share a horse with another rider? Absolutely not. For the safety of all riders, only one person may be on each horse at a time.
- If I have never ridden a horse before, is there training beforehand? Before every trail ride, we demonstrate basic horse riding skills such as mounting and steering a horse. We are focused on the safety of our horses, as well as the group and ensure everyone is comfortable during the trail ride. Keep in mind that our horses only walk during the trail rides, also, if you have any questions along the way, we are there to help.
- How fast do the horses go? Our horses only walk during the trail ride. They do not trot or canter. Our horses are very gentle and our wranglers are focused on the safety of the group.
- Do I need to be physically fit to take a trail ride? While you do not need to be an athlete to take a trail ride, participants should be fit enough to mount and dismount the horse. We also have mounting blocks. Keep In mind if you have a hard time getting around for what ever reason the ride may not be the best fit for you We do not have weight requirements as we have horses that can cater to all.
- Are there weight or height restrictions? We have horses that can cater to a wide range of riders. Please provide the weight and height of each rider when purchasing your tickets, so we can match each rider with the perfect horse. Keep In mind if you have a hard time getting around for what ever reason the ride may not be the best fit for you.
- Are we required to wear a helmet? We require everyone under 18 years old to wear a helmet, for others the decision is yours. We do provide helmets for anyone who would like to wear one. What should I wear? We suggest you wear long pants to protect your legs and closed toed shoes (tennis shoes are fine).
- Are snacks or drinks provided on the trail ride? No, snacks and drinks are not provided. However, if you would like to bring your own, we do provide a bag that will hang on the horn of your saddle which you may put your belongings in during the ride.
- Absolutely! Our horses are very gentle and only walk during the trail ride. There is no trotting or cantering.
- Do you offer trail rides in any other language besides English? While the trail ride is not fully narrated, we do provide verbal instructions throughout the ride, and these instructions are only provided in English. It is highly recommended that you understand English or bring along an interpreter if you plan to take a trail ride. If you plan to bring an interpreter please let us know beforehand, and note that they would need a ticket for the ride as well.
- Are there restrooms available along the trail? We have restrooms at the meeting location. We strongly recommend using the restroom beforehand, as there are no restrooms along the trail, “just mother nature.” Can pregnant women take a trail ride?
- We do not recommend our horseback rides for pregnant woman. But they can feel free to relax at our stable and visit with the animals while the rest of the group is out on the trail.
